Traveling with a baby is stressful no matter what the circumstances. Especially during a pandemic, the situation is at least twice as stressful. In addition to the preparations for the actual trip, the various corona-related conditions make the stress of traveling with a small child even more difficult.
To help you, we have put together a few useful tips that can help you have a better travel experience with your baby.
Check the requirements for your destination

Since Corona-related requirements change so often from one day to the next and even multiple times a day, make sure you’ve checked your final destination’s government websites multiple times before packing. Although there is usually always information available on social media, the official sources of information are the ultimate source in this regard.
Use apps for your travel process
Especially when you are busy with a baby, you do not have time to do all the procedures in real-time. While using an app, you can check-in and upload various Covid19-related certificates with just one app touch. Apps also help keep track of all your documents, such as country-specific immigration forms. Some of the apps we recommend are Verifly, CommonPass, and IATA Travel Pass. Many airlines such as British Airways, Iberia, Japan Airlines, or Qantas already recommend their passengers to use some of them and if you are traveling as a family you can sort all the documents.
Carefully review the Covid testing requirements
The timing of COVID tests is very stressful even if you are traveling alone. Availability requirements vary from country to country and you must carefully review all information before traveling. In some cases, the test is available 48 hours from the first place of departure, in other cases 72. All you need to avoid confusion and subsequent problems is to check and verify the official information.
Ask for the Corona hotline
If you are denied your flight for test reasons, you must contact the official Corona hotline immediately. Such lines have English speakers and will help you sort out the process should there be any ambiguity regarding your vaccination and testing status.
What vaccination is required at your travel destination?
Acceptance of different types of vaccines may vary from country to country. Therefore, before you travel, check whether the vaccinations meet the requirements of the respective destination country.
Is vaccination mandatory at your travel destination?
This is another important question to ask yourself before you even start booking your ticket. Knowing the vaccination requirements at your travel destination will save you a great deal of time and energy. Especially if you are to remain in quarantine throughout your vacation, you may want to be sure that you arrive prepared with all possible documents and information.
Have enough masks!
A baby may not always need a mask, but in some cases, airlines may require one and you’d better have it with you. Since there are many fun baby masks on the market these days, you can find out what suits your child best and maybe play some fun games before starting your journey. You might also want to check what kind of masks are required at your destination and therefore get the FFP2 and other high-security masks. Such a step will surely save time and money since you would not have to pay for some overpriced masks available at the airport.

Flight times that give you time to do your tests
Test time is a very important aspect of any trip. You should be sure you have enough time to get the tests and avoid the stress if your results could be delayed, especially if you’re trying to travel at the weekend.
Travel insurance that covers COVID19
Before the pandemic, many of us easily took the risk of traveling without proper travel insurance. Nowadays it is not recommended because there are chances that you will get sick, need medical help and without proper insurance, you will have to pay a lot of money to get back on your feet. Regardless of how healthy you are and how many vaccinations you’ve had, it’s important to be insured.
